Not only are these an overkill currently in the comprehensive plan but they are being demanded BEYOND the requirements by community groups who aren’t even in Tysons. It destroys the urban fabric, it makes it impossible to walk anywhere. When properly located parks and fields are great but when they are everywhere they become hard for surveillance and hubs for crime because they lack the inherent observation from residence and businesses found in mixed use urban settings.
Fairfax so far seems gung-ho about continuing this requirement.
